Türkiye’s video game industry reached a historic milestone in 2025, crossing the USD 1 billion mark for the first time with total revenue of USD 1.01 billion.
The figures come from the annual “Türkiye Game Market Report” published this week by Gaming in Turkey MENA EU. The result represents 25% annual growth over the USD 810 million recorded in 2024 and caps a decade of steady development in Türkiye’s digital games sector, which has become one of the most dynamic markets in Europe and the Middle East.
In Turkish lira terms, growth was even more striking at 51.46% year on year, reflecting both the industry’s momentum and currency movements.
Digital infrastructure drives growth
Growth in Türkiye’s games market has been underpinned by strong development of digital infrastructure. The country now has around 77 million internet users, and internet use among people aged 16 to 74 has reached 90.9%.
Fixed broadband subscriptions have also grown significantly: according to Türk Telekom, fibre (FTTH/FTTB) subscribers rose 21.6% year on year to 9.3 million by the third quarter of 2025. The number of active players in Türkiye is approaching 50 million, 46% of them women and 54% men — a sign of the sector’s broad appeal across society.
In 2025 the games sector attracted USD 180.9 million of start-up investment, making it the second most-funded sector in Türkiye’s tech ecosystem after fintech. Companies such as Cypher Games and Bigger Games were among the recipients, cementing Türkiye’s position as a hub for game development. The country has previously produced unicorns such as Peak Games and Dream Games.
