Türkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) submitted a bill to parliament on Monday that would, for the first time, introduce a tax on income from cryptocurrencies in the country.

The proposal targets one of the world’s largest crypto markets, where high inflation and a weakening lira have pushed retail investors towards digital assets. Under the draft, licensed platforms would be required to withhold a 10% tax at source every three months, while service providers would also be subject to a 0.03% levy on sales and transfers.
