Türkiye’s Ministry of Industry and Technology has announced that, under its “Tech Visa” programme, 22 foreign technology start-ups have been approved to relocate and establish themselves in the country.
Under the programme, selected entrepreneurs receive a three-year work permit and certain tax exemptions. The goal is to raise the number of start-ups attracted to 75 by 2026 and 125 by 2028. The ministry has also restructured its Directorate General of Technology, adding a special focus on artificial intelligence.
In the same vein, researchers and companies have been invited to submit proposals for developing large language models (LLMs) native to Türkiye.
