TechRadar predicts that 2026 will be defined by the pervasive spread of AI across all sectors, with competition narrowing to a two-way race between OpenAI and Google and smaller AI players facing mergers or exit.

According to the report, OpenAI is expected to introduce GPT-6 as a major leap in computing power and reasoning. Apple is also expected — after developing augmented-reality technology since 2017 — to finally enter the smart-glasses market by late 2026 to compete with Meta and others.

Meanwhile, the global RAM shortage that began in 2025 will intensify sharply in 2026. DDR5 chip prices have risen by about 300% in just three months, and some consumer RAM kits have jumped from USD 260 to USD 498. At the same time, humanoid robots such as 1X’s Neo Beta — though still years from full readiness — will enter limited home deployment at around USD 20,000.
