Every year Euromonitor publishes two separate rankings: “the world’s most visited cities” and “the world’s top destinations”.
While Türkiye has drawn attention with both Istanbul and Antalya in the most-visited cities list, tourism experts stress that the destinations ranking matters more from a long-term perspective.
In the 2025 ranking, the world’s top 10 destinations are, in order: Orlando, New York, Mecca, Paris, Antalya, Medina, Los Angeles, Dubai, Cancún and Kyoto.
In Euromonitor’s ranking of the world’s most visited cities, Bangkok leads with 30 million visitors, followed by Hong Kong, London, Macau, Istanbul, Dubai, Mecca, Antalya, Paris and Kuala Lumpur.
Antalya stands out as the only resort-based destination on the list, while the other cities are mainly urban destinations.
