Antalya, one of Türkiye’s most popular places to live and visit, has seen a marked increase in property purchases by foreign nationals over the past five years and plays an important role in the country’s property market.
According to official statistics, between 2021 and 2025 a total of 341,195 homes were sold in Antalya, of which 59,549 were bought by foreign buyers — in other words, one in six homes sold in Antalya went to a foreign buyer. The annual breakdown:
- 2021: 12,384 of 66,691 homes sold to foreigners
- 2022: 21,860 of 80,459 homes (the highest in five years)
- 2023: 12,702 of 64,721 homes
- 2024: 8,223 of 77,512 homes
- First eight months of 2025: 4,380 of 51,812 homes
Foreign demand has also been significant nationwide, though on a smaller scale than in Antalya. Since 2021 more than 6.6 million homes have changed hands across Türkiye, 198,000 of them to foreign nationals. The highest annual figure came in 2022, when 67,490 homes were bought by international buyers.
Beyond property, Antalya’s tourism appeal remains a key driver of the city’s economic growth. According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, more than 2,388,585 tourists visited Antalya in September 2025 alone — 49,114 more than a year earlier. Russians, Germans and Poles accounted for the largest shares. In the first nine months of 2025, Antalya hosted 14,091,318 tourists, 19,803 more than the previous year. Russia led with 3,306,606 visitors, followed by Germany with 2,702,971 and the UK with 1,292,806.
These figures show Antalya’s dual role — as one of Türkiye’s main tourism hubs and an important centre for attracting foreign property investors. Meanwhile, Türkiye’s wider property market has shown signs of resilience and growth. According to the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre (TKGM), total property transactions — including homes, land, farmland and commercial property — rose 11.4% year on year in the first nine months of 2025 to 2,290,485. In September alone, 300,687 properties changed hands nationwide, the highest monthly figure of the year and a 5.4% annual increase.
