On 3 November 2025, at the Billboard Live Music Summit in West Hollywood, California, Shakira became the first Latin artist to receive the Billboard Global Touring Icon Award.

The 48-year-old Colombian singer’s world tour “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” has so far grossed more than USD 327.4 million from 64 shows and 2.5 million tickets sold — making it the highest-grossing tour ever by a female Latin artist and the second highest-grossing Latin tour of all time.

Shakira set a historic record at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, with 12 consecutive shows and around 65,000 tickets sold each night, for a total of 780,000 tickets — more than any other artist at the venue.

The award was presented by Marty Hom — a renowned tour manager who has worked with Fleetwood Mac, Barbra Streisand and the Rolling Stones — while Shakira was backstage in Cali, Colombia, rehearsing for her first show in the city in 20 years. The tour, which began in April 2024 and is due to end in December 2025 after 82 shows, is likely to surpass Luis Miguel’s 2023–2024 tour, which grossed USD 409.5 million, to become the highest-grossing Latin tour in history.
