From January to August this year, a total of 168 cruise ships carrying 410,577 passengers arrived in the city.
This represents a 53% increase in cruise passengers compared with the same period last year. From January to August 2024, a total of 123 cruise ships came to Istanbul, with 205,140 transit passengers among a total of 268,227 cruise passengers.
Compared with the same period last year, in 2025:
- the number of cruise ships rose by 36.6%,
- the number of arriving (turnaround) cruise passengers grew by 111.8%,
- and the number of transit cruise passengers rose by 31.8%.
Overall, the total number of cruise passengers in Istanbul grew by 53.1% compared with last year.
