OpenAI is now valued at USD 500 billion, possibly the world’s most valuable start-up

OpenAI can now be considered the world’s most valuable start-up, ahead of Elon Musk’s SpaceX and TikTok parent ByteDance.

This follows a secondary share sale aimed at retaining employees at the ChatGPT maker. Current and former OpenAI employees sold USD 6.6 billion worth of shares to a group of investors, valuing the private AI company at USD 500 billion.
