Türkiye’s national carrier, Turkish Airlines, has started services on its new Istanbul–Seville route, with flights every day of the week.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said Turkish Airlines began operating in Spain in 1984 with flights to Madrid, followed by Barcelona in 1992. The airline later added Málaga in the south, Valencia in the east and Bilbao in the north to its network. “Turkish Airlines currently operates 91 scheduled flights a week from Istanbul Airport to various destinations in Spain,” he said.
“Türkiye and Spain, as two ancient Mediterranean civilisations, share a deep friendship shaped over centuries through art, culture and trade,” he stressed. Uraloğlu noted: “These ties will be further strengthened by the new route to Seville; travellers can now visit landmarks such as the Royal Alcázar, the Giralda bell tower and Seville Cathedral, all UNESCO World Heritage sites.” He added that the Istanbul–Seville route will be operated as a round trip with modern Airbus A321neo aircraft.
