This year’s Emmy Awards were not just about Seth Rogen and his burnt-brown jacket as he took the stage to collect award after award — though at times it seemed that way.

“The Studio” won 13 Emmys, breaking the record for the most awards ever for a comedy. Rogen himself tied the record for most individual wins in one night with four awards, saying: “Honestly, I’m a little embarrassed.” But behind this big success, other historic moments also unfolded. Tramell Tillman of “Severance” became the first Black actor to win in his category.

Stephen Colbert’s turbulent year also peaked with a major award.

A teenager makes history

In one of the ceremony’s milestones, 15-year-old Owen Cooper won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series for “Adolescence”, becoming the youngest male winner in Emmy history. The four-part Netflix series, which explores the emotional fallout of a teenage stabbing in Britain, became both controversial and widely watched.

In his speech, Cooper said he had only started acting classes a few years ago and urged everyone to step out of their comfort zone and dare to try new things.
