Hotel managing director Jonathan Crook said this special experience lets guests see Istanbul from its most iconic vantage point — the water.

“Istanbul, at the crossroads of Asia and Europe, is a city best seen from the water,” he said. “On board PEN 1, guests of The Peninsula Istanbul can discover this vibrant metropolis in style, with sweeping views of both continents and in complete comfort, while enjoying Peninsula’s impeccable hospitality.” The 16-metre yacht, designed by leading Turkish naval architect Tanju Kalaycıoğlu and built by SuMarine, can accommodate 16 guests.

Its design blends classic nautical style with modern aesthetics, featuring teak decks, handcrafted details, polished steel fittings and a hull in Peninsula’s signature green. PEN 1 departs from the hotel’s private pier at Galataport and offers water transfers to destinations such as Üsküdar and the Golden Horn (Haliç), giving easy access to Istanbul’s liveliest neighbourhoods. Guests arriving at Istanbul Airport are driven to the Golden Horn pier, while those arriving at Sabiha Gökçen are taken to Üsküdar, with luggage sent directly to the hotel.

On arrival, guests are welcomed by a guest-experience host and a glass of champagne. In addition to transfers, PEN 1 is also available for bespoke private cruises.
