Türkiye expects a significant boost to its tourism sector with the return of Formula 1.
Under a new five-year agreement, Formula 1 will return to Istanbul Park from 2027, and the Turkish Grand Prix will remain on the calendar through the 2031 season.
The agreement was reached in cooperation with Türkiye’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) will act as the operating partner for the events.
According to estimates, the event will contribute around USD 200–250 million a year to the Turkish economy, and some 200,000 domestic and international visitors are expected during race week.
Istanbul Park first joined the Formula 1 calendar in 2005 and is known for its 5.33 km length and its challenging Turn 8.
Türkiye last hosted the championship in 2021, when Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas won at Istanbul Park.
